Session Information

SESSION REQUIREMENTS

*A clearly named bag that can be hung on a hook, with an external label.

Ensure that ALL items are clearly named or labelled including clothing, bottles, food and drink containers, hats, dummies, prams, comforter/toy etc.

The following items should be included in your child’s bag:

1) Two (2) clean disposable nappies & a plastic bag for dirty nappies (if necessary).

2) For morning sessions, a drink, a pre prepared piece of fruit in a container and a sandwich in a separate container. (Do not send food that contain NUTS eg/PEANUT BUTTER)

3) For afternoon sessions, a drink and a pre prepared piece of fruit in a container. Please do not send cakes, biscuits and Prima type drinks.

4) A change of clothes, an appropriate sun hat (legionnaires or broad-rimmed) during Terms 1 and 4 and for sunny days, warm hat & coat for cold days.

5) Waterproof pants or full suit for children who are crawling or just walking (nursery only)

6) A comforter/ toy if necessary.

7) If your child has a dummy, please ensure it can be pinned onto clothing and labelled with at least your child’s initials in indelible ink.

NAPPIES & TOILET TRAINING POLICY

* To comply with health regulations we do not handle cloth nappies at Playstation, nor do we dispose of disposable nappies.

* Please send your child in a fresh disposable nappy and not in their night nappy or cloth nappies.

* Children will be changed if they are soiled or if staff are informed of severe nappy rash.

* Please inform staff if you are toilet training your child and they will monitor your child throughout their session.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES

* Sessions commence at 9.00 am and 12.45 pm. Please do not leave your child at the centre prior to this time.

* Please ensure that you register your child’s attendance by completing the sheet at the desk in your child’s room.

* Times and signatures are required on arrival and it is essential that notification be made if any other adult is to collect the child after the session (see “Departures” below for further details).

* The children’s morning snack and afternoon snack, lunch box and drink are to be placed on the trays provided in each area.

* If your child likes being in their pram it may be a good idea to allow them to stay in it initially until after you have left Playstation.

* Please put your child’s bag and hat on the appropriate pegs. In the Nursery the pegs are allocated as per the registration sheet.

DEPARTURE PROCEDURES

Sessions finish promptly at 12.00pm and 3.15pm.

* Any collections after 12.05pm and 3.20pm will incur a late fee of $5.00 per 5 minutes.

* Always sign your child out and complete the register with the time of collection.

* No child will be released into a parent/nominated person’s care until the child is signed out. If the parent/primary carer is not picking up the child, the child will only be released to a person previously authorised in writing. The list of authorised people may be added to or amended throughout the year.

* In the Nursery, please sign out your child prior to entering through the gate to collect your child.

* In the Pre School/Whistlestoppers, please sign out your child and remain behind the gate. Collect hats from hat pegs and artwork from the drying rack.
